World Gin Day 2019: A Festival Guide

Saturday June 8th 2019 is World Gin Day, and once again there’s a huge range of gin-centric events taking place around the world in celebration of our favourite sip.  From Surrey to Singapore, we’ve picked out some of our picks of the larger “festival” style events taking place that we’d love to be at this coming Saturday, if we didn’t already have plans to be enjoying a Wheadon’s and tonic or two here in Guernsey.

UK Mainland

Junipalooza (London) - The international "Meet The Maker" gin show at London's Tobacco Dock, featuring over 75 distillers from all around the world.

The Ginchester Fête (Winchester) - Now in its fourth year, the annual Ginchester Fête is the region’s quirkiest celebration of the juniper spirit. It takes place in the breathtaking setting of the Great Hall Winchester, a medieval banquet hall used by Kings and Queens of yore.

The Gin To My Tonic Festival (Oxford) - Taking place at Oxford Town Hall and bringing together over 100 different gins from across the UK and beyond.

Gin Journey (London, Brighton, Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds) - Gin Journey gin tours blend sumptuous cocktails, craft gins, banging bars, history with humour, a sleek gin carriage (your ride) and inspiring distillery visits (not all tours), all hosted by our expert Gin Guardians harnessing more character than a magically mixed Martini.

Worldwide

Gin Festival Tokyo - Japans largest gin festival features over 200 gins, a G&T bar, food, workshops and even a special exhibition on British Gins.

Gin Journey (Singapore and Prague) - Gin Journey's regular international tour of Singapore is being joined on World Gin Day by a pop-up tour in Prague - as with Gin Journey's UK offerings, expect chauffeur driven by Gini-bus (no walking tour here). There are 5 stops, 5 cocktails and 5 samples of gin!

Gin Fest at Glen Ewin Estate (South Australia) - Meet, taste and discover the best South Australian and interstate artisan gin distillers, and enjoy entertainment, masterclasses and competitions in the grounds of a beautiful countryside estate.

Stockholm Gin Fest - Swedens first international gin festival with Nordic gin in focus.
