This Saturday, June 9^th 2018, is the tenth annual World Gin Day - and we intend to celebrate!  As such, we are inviting you to join us at our home at Guernsey’s Gin Hotel, the beautiful Bella Luce, for an afternoon and evening of Wheadon’s and tonics, afternoon “G&Tea”, a very special “World of Gin” distillery experience with Luke Wheadon, and a set menu dinner paired with a flight of gin cocktails.

To honour this special occasion, Mr Wheadon is distilling a limited edition “for-one-day-only” expression of Kumquat and Elderflower gin, featuring kumquats grown here on Guernsey by the wonderful Joyce Hardy at the Marette Du Haute Vinery, and elderflowers from the hedgerows of St Martins.  Thanks to Guernsey’s location as one of the southernmost islands in the British Isles, summer arrives with us slightly sooner and elderflowers are already in bloom. 

Throughout the afternoon the Bella’s bar team will be offering Wheadon’s and tonics at the very special price of £4.40 each, and you can take your pick between any one of our three regular expressions or our World Gin Day special.  They’ll also be mixing up negronis with our mandarin lime and hibiscus gin, gimlets featuring our new yuzu, lemongrass and green tea gin (both at a special World Gin Day price of £7.50 each) and Wheadon’s Gin infused tea cocktail to accompany afternoon teas. 

At 6pm, sixteen lucky people (book your place, before it’s too late!) will join Mr Wheadon in the Bella’s small batch distillery around Old Nick, for a journey around the world’s gins.  This hour-long experience is a guided tasting of eight different gins that showcase the differing styles and flavour profiles of international gins.  This experience costs just £35 and can be booked by calling the Bella Luce on +44 (0)1481 238764.

To round out the evening, you can sit down to dinner in the Bella’s award winning restaurant for a World Gin Day three-course set-menu paired with a flight of gins and gin cocktails to compliment.  Dinner, including gin flight, costs £39.90 and booking is essential.  For diners who would like to order from the Bella's A La Carte menu but still enjoy the World Gin Day flight of gins with their meal, the gin flight can be added for an additional £10.
