Live Distilling Demonstration at Eat, Drink and Be Local

This summer we’ve spent some wonderful Sundays on St Peter Port’s Crown Pier alongside other local food and drink producers for EDABL's (Eat, Drink and Be Local Guernsey) Seafront Sundays.  These events culminate this September in a week-long festival (23rd – 28th September) featuring special dinners, foodie tours and farm experiences, and a weekend-long Festival Finale on Crown Pier on the 28th and 29th.

Over the finale weekend there’ll be cookery demonstrations and tastings, chefs competing head-to-head to create the best dish using the same ingredients, various competitions (including oyster shucking, apple pressing, sausage making and chilli eating), the launch of Bobby Groves’ book Oyster Isles and of course, plenty of Wheadon's Gin.

We’re excited to be exhibiting on the pier, and from midday on both the Saturday and Sunday Mr W will lead attendees through his process as he begins to create a unique gin for the festival.  We expect the distillation process to be completed at around 2pm, at which point there’ll be a guided tasting of the festival gin led by Mr W.  We hope that some of you will be able to join us to watch Mr W at work and taste the fruits of his efforts, fresh from the still!
